Things To Do

For a start, absorb the culture of Old Delhi by heading towards the markets of Chandi Chowk where you can buy souvenirs and gifts. Nearby this huge market is the Red Fort where during the evening, you can watch a light and sound show that recreates Delhi’s history. However, for something more peaceful, Lodi Gardens are the place to spend a morning as is the Lotus Temple which represents the sacred lotus flower in India.

Day Trips

Delhi is one of the main starting points for visitors wanting to see India’s Golden Triangle. This tour will take you from Delhi, to the big stopping points of Agra and Jaipur where you’ll see iconic sights such as the Taj Mahal. Although doing the whole tour can take up to 4 days, it’s possible to see the Taj Mahal on a one day trip which may also take you to Agra Fort as well.

Food And Drink

If you want good street food, Delhi is the place to be. Over recent years, grabbing some savoury Chaat from a street vendor or roadside food truck has become one of the best ways to explore Delhi’s culture and get a good meal at the same time. Other popular meals included butter chicken – a mildly spiced curry with tomato and butter – or paranthas which is a delicious flatbread eaten for breakfast or lunch.
