The Petronas Towers are the symbol of Kuala Lumpur – visitors can go to either the Skybridge on the 41st and 42nd floor, or to the observation deck on level 86, for amazing views. Stop by the imposing National Mosque on your way to KL Bird Park, where you can see and interact with a range of bird species. Escape the city chaos in KLCC Park, where there are lakes, fountains, playgrounds and a jogging track.

Shopping

Shopping is a big pastime in Kuala Lumpur, and there are so many malls that you can practically cross the whole city hopping from one air-conditioned bubble to the next. There’s something to suit all budgets, from the designer names in Pavilion KL and Suria KLCC to the local crafts and textiles in beautiful Central Market and imitation brand goods in haggler’s paradise Petaling Street Market.

Day Trips

The hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur can get overwhelming, so it’s wise to plan a couple of trips out of the city! The Batu Caves are one of Malaysia’s best-known landmarks, a network of limestone caves with a huge golden Hindu God at its entrance. Meanwhile, you’ll have all your entertainment needs catered for at Genting Highlands, a resort 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur that has malls, a casino, entertainment shows and amusement parks.
