The edge of a sunny beach near Kavos

Holidays to Kavos

Kavos holidays are all about unforgettable nights out followed by sun-kissed days lounging on sandy beaches.

Golden sands and party plans

Pull up a lounger, slap on that sunscreen and sleep, scroll or binge-watch your way through the day in preparation for the next round of partying. Yep, Kavos days by the glorious blue sea are the stuff of beach bum dreams (and hangovers). You can even spend your evenings here — the beach bars conveniently stay open ‘til late.

Watersport fun in the Corfu sun

Not one for lazing on the beach all day? Hit the water for a refreshing swim and every watersport under the Corfu sun, from jet-skis to crazy sofas (which are inflatable couches pulled by motorboat, in case you didn’t know!).

Boat trips and booze cruises

The watery fun doesn’t stop there. Keep it respectable with a boat trip or two, during which you can dive into the inviting water by the Blue Lagoon and go snorkelling. Or maybe you just want to keep on partying, in which case, book yourself onto a booze cruise from Kavos. Wild? You bet! And what happens in Kavos…

Hit the road, Jack

Is it worth giving up a day on the beach to explore more of Corfu? Absolutely! Absence, after all, only makes the heart grow fonder. So, hire a car and make a beeline for Corfu Town. Only an hour or so away, Corfu’s charming and picturesque capital embodies a totally different vibe to Kavos. Visit a museum, enjoy a refreshing Greek salad and wander about the Old Fortress. Very sophisticated!

Best beaches: Sunshine snoozes

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Kavos Beach is an 8km (5 miles) stretch of sand lined with bars – and it’s not even the only beach here. Arkoudilas Beach is a gorgeous spot that’s backed by cliffs and with shallow water. You can even walk there from Kavos in about 40 minutes. Lol, you say? Taxi it is. Alternatively, don your shades, soak up the rays, hit the waters and have inflatable fun at Aqualand Corfu Water Park.

Nightlife: Yamas!

This is the land of paint parties, foam parties and party parties. If you want to embrace Kavos’s famous nightlife, embark on a bar crawl along The Strip. You’ll find many bars offering incentives to come in, from cheap cocktails to free shots. If your aim is to dance your way into the next morning, you won’t be short on options either – in peak summer, Future Club is the place to be for DJs in the early hours.

Best of the rest: Island adventures

Corfu is well worth exploring in between all that sunbathing and partying. Your options? Visit Corfu Town, take boat trips to beauty spots, brave the free fall slide and kamikaze at Aqualand Corfu, or hike along part of the Corfu Trail. Horse riding is another fun way to explore the area, especially the route to Arkoudilas Beach in the morning or at sunset. Or go diving to discover Corfu’s magnificent underwater world.

When to go to Kavos

While Corfu is a year-round island, Kavos is a peak summer destination. July and August are the most popular months, when parties are in full swing and temperatures hit 30C. September is also lively with end-of-season events.

For cheap Kavos holidays, search in early summer, around the end of June, when the season is just beginning. Look for different types of accommodation throughout the summer too. Basic hotels can be super affordable and you probably won’t be spending a lot of time in them, anyway!
