Holidays to Kardamena

Overview

Originally a fishing village built on the remains of an ancient settlement, Kardamena has come a long way to become one of Kos’ most popular holiday resorts. Now full of new-build hotels and bars bordered by a fantastic beach, Kardamena is popular with the 18-30s crowd looking for a week of partying. However, it’s not all about the nightlife; those who aren’t sleeping off the previous night can enjoy fun day trips and activities.

Beaches

Warm golden sand, clear blue sea, plenty of sun loungers – Kardamena Beach has all the components of a beach from heaven. There is a range of water sports on offer, and the beach is packed with bars and restaurants where you can take a break from the sun and enjoy a refreshing drink. The sand continues on either side of the busy main beach, so just walk a little down the coast to find quieter spots.

Nightlife

Kardamena has the biggest, loudest nightlife outside of Kos Town, and is therefore popular with large groups in their teens and twenties. The main hub is on imaginatively-named Bar Street, where the clubs tend to stay open until 4 am throughout the peak summer season, and even 6 am on weekends. Expect busy bars and great music, and a big helping of paint and foam parties into the mix.

Things To Do

If you’re not feeling too delicate from the night before, there are plenty of day trips and activities to enjoy in and around Kardamena. Shopping is a big attraction – Kardamena has everything from souvenir shops to local markets to boutique stores where you can pick up gifts. Lido Water Park is close by, or you can take a boat trip to Nisyros Island to visit the crater of a volcano.
