Holidays to Ibiza

The glow stick-waving party capital of Europe, an Ibiza holiday blends sheer, unapologetic hedonism with historic attractions, boujee wellness activities, and chilled-out hippie vibes. Oh, and did we mention the beaches?

Drop it like it’s hot

Whether you want to pump it up at Pacha, forget about real life at Amnesia, or go ultra extra at Ushuaïa (or all three), Ibiza’s nightlife is next level. Famous for its megaclubs and a steady stream of international DJs, the White Isle is one of the most electric clubbing destinations in the world. For hero-level hedonists, holiday here is a no-brainer!

Bohemian Rhapsody

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? It’s both! Ibiza’s ever-present bohemian vibe stems back to the sixties when hippies settled on the island. See it in full force at the Las Dalias Hippy Market in San Carlos, where you can fill your boots with tie-dye sarongs, spell candles and, er, cheekily-shaped bottle openers.

Life’s a beach

After a night of clubbing comes a day of recovery on the beach. Discover quiet coves in the north or head to Cala Conta for chilled-out beachfront bites at Sunset Ashram. Fancy a hair of the dog? Head to Playa d'En Bossa and carry on the party in its beach bars and day clubs.

Ibiza Town

There’s a lot more to this Spanish island than beaches and clubs, so swap your sunbed and cocktail for a day exploring Ibiza Town, the island’s chic capital. Cleverly combining the old and the new, UNESCO-crowned Dalt Vila is a fortified Old Town with a maze of cobblestone streets dotted with boho boutiques and cool coffee shops.

Next level namaste

Yoga in Ibiza? You bet! Whether you’re detoxing from a late night, or you’re enjoying a more laidback, wellness-themed break, there are plenty of places to stretch in the sun. For a welcome blend of yoga and brekkie, consider Amante Ibiza in Cala Llonga or Aiyanna on Cala Nova.

Bossin’ beach days

Snaking down the east coast, Playa d'En Bossa is the boss beach of Ibiza. Whether you want banana boats, Bali beds or buzzing beach bars, d’En Bossa’s the place. For a more sophisticated Ibiza holiday, head to Ses Salinas for seafood, chilled rosé and fresh beats at the legendary Jockey Club. Or get the full boho experience at Es Cavallet beach, where you can swim and sunbathe as nature intended. Just don’t forget the sunscreen!

Eat, sleep, rave, repeat

Ibiza is home to the best super clubs on the planet. In Ibiza Town, open-air Ushuaïa lights up with pyrotechnics and lasers, and nearby Pacha serves up some of the best DJs in the world. But it's not always doof-doof music: Pacha’s Flower Power night is a portal back to Ibiza in the sixties! For pure techno beats, get your disco pants down to San Antonio. After applauding the sunset at Cafe del Mar, hit up megaclubs Eden and Es Paradis.

Join the culture club

Want history and culture? Ibiza’s got it. Historical highlights include the Puig des Molins, which is a necropolis in Ibiza Town, and Dalt Vila, a walled fortress built by the Phoenicians many moons ago. Here, stone bastions hide hole-in-the-wall tapas bars. As for art, the Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art is your go-to gallery for Balearic works, while the Stonehenge-esque 13 basalt columns on the cliffs at Cala Llentia offer an inimitable experience.

When to go to Ibiza

For epic club nights and superstar DJs, pack your dancing pants for an Ibiza holiday between May and October. These six months are effectively the tourist season.

Within that period, June through to August is peak season, when the beaches are packed and the clubs are heaving.

For cheap Ibiza holidays, come in April or October, when the weather’s still warm and you can downward dog as much as you want. It’s even cheaper from November to March (think less hedonism, more sightseeing).
