Seeking beach life? Malta’s beautiful summer weather is perfect for a holiday on the sands. The islands’ beaches range from fully developed resorts with all the bells and whistles to secluded spots off the beaten track where you can sunbathe in solitude.

During the cooler spring and autumn months, hiking and biking along trails through the countryside are great ways to discover Malta’s beautiful countryside and natural scenery.

LGBTQ+ friendly

Malta has topped the charts on the ILGA-Europe Rainbow Index for eight consecutive years (2016 – 2023) thanks to the country’s friendly and welcoming attitude towards the LGBTQ+ community.

The capital, Valletta, hosted EuroPride in September 2023 – almost 20 years after the country’s first Pride march in 2004 – and its annual Pride event breaks records year after year.

If you can’t make Pride, there’s also a year-round calendar of LGBTQ+ events and numerous gay clubs spread across the islands. All accommodation is gay-friendly, and some hotels are gay-owned.

All couples can enjoy the stunning array of wedding and honeymoon backdrops including bays and beaches, baroque structures and historical venues, as same-sex marriage is legal across the Maltese Islands.
